Frames for shamanic drum (Ash or Willow)

Frames for shamanic drums (Ash or Willow), also known as hoops, shells or rings, are made from sanded wood and are available in many different diameters, ranging from 25 cm to 65 cm.

All frames are carefully finished and can be used immediately. However, we do recommend a light manual sanding. When you then massage the frame with oil, you really get to know the frame and your drum. The oil brings out the beautiful colour of the wood and clearly reveals the specific characteristics of the wood type. Any plant-based oil is suitable for oiling the frame. Our preference is almond oil, as this oil is also used for baby massages. A wonderfully soft oil that allows you to give the frame some extra love. In addition, the oil nourishes the wood and extends the lifespan of the frame.

Ash

Willow

Willow is a lighter type of wood. This means that when you make your own shamanic drum from willow, the drum remains comfortable to hold for longer periods of time. For larger willow frames, from 55 centimetres upwards, we recommend using thinner hides, as thicker hides may cause the frame to slightly lose its shape.
