Hairy drum skins (various animal species) are perfect for stretching your own shamanic drum. We have a wide variety of animal hides and skins in stock for building your own spiritual drum. Which will you choose for your healing drum?

Once you have stretched the hairy skin over your drum frame, your own drum will have a full sound with lots of low tones. The drum skin vibrates only in the fundamental tone, as the hair dampens the vibrations that arise at the sides. You will also barely hear the strike of the beater. You can optionally trim or shave the hair of the shamanic drum (partly) to deepen the sound.

We have drum hides and skins with diameters from 35 to 100 centimetres in stock, fitting drum frames of 25 to 90 centimetres. Allow at least 10 centimetres more than the frame to stretch the skin properly.

We have 25 years of experience in buying and selling hides and skins, have good contact with our suppliers in Pakistan and know for certain that the animals have been treated with respect and were not killed for their hide. The spirit of the animal receives a new life with the creation of the drum and can do much good in its new form.
